Initiation to Clown
Initiation to Clown is for anyone who has an interest in the art of clown and who wants to be introduced to Francine Côté’s method, but who has little to no training or professional experience in theatre, circus or dance.
Initiation to Clown Class
Through a series of basic physical theatre exercises, participants will develop a better awareness of their bodies, openness, enjoyment of play, creativity, and emotional listening to themselves and the audience, all while learning to use specific techniques related to clowning: public gaze, fixed point, rhythm, emotion/movement/text, etc. These exercises will allow them to begin exploring a clown character starting from themselves. The instructor adapts to the needs and level of each participant. The workshop takes place in an atmosphere of trust and lightness.
Other Workshops
Completely covering the face, this expressionless mask allows the body to speak. By questioning the body, the neutral mask invites us to explore and expand the potential of body language.
