Clown 3: Rhythms and Canevas Work – Francine Côté Method

Canvas and rhythm work allows you to deepen all the concepts learned during the Clown 1 and Clown 2 workshops by putting them into practice in a context of creation and improvisation. The Clown 3 workshop offers participants to enter into a process of simplifying the scenario and specifying the technique of physical play: emotion-movement-text. It also offers a sneak peak of coaching work in a clown duo.

Note: The participant must plan off-workshop work sessions with their partner assigned to them by the teacher.

Other Workshops

  • “Clown art is not a series of gags. The gag is just the punctuation at the end of a comic sentence. Rather, it is the sentence itself that is comical and contains the force of the laughter. ” -James Keylon

  • The Four Classic Duos, created and supported by Pedro Fabião, will be taught by Jean Saucier.

  • “In clown art, the real generosity of the actor is to offer the game to his partner when he is experiencing success.” - Francine Côté
