Commedia dell’arte Weekend

This workshop gives participants the opportunity to start learning about Commedia dell'arte, a theatrical art of Italian origin that, according to many scholars, initiated what we now call professional theatre.

Commedia dell’arte Weekend Class

The aim is to introduce the fixed types of the Commedia dell’arte

The students will also explore their different physicality, their movements, the use of the mask and, through the use of improvisations, their relationships on stage. Through work on the Commedia dell’arte we will rediscover the basics of theatre: i.e. combining movement, voice and listening on stage (both to one’s scene partner and to the audience).
